A Full Update

I wanted to take a bit of time and fill you all in on the changes that are happening with Prehm Ministries, making the transition (and name change) to Renaissance Life. This has been in the making for quite some time but the actual transition has only occurred in the past week.

For a while now I have been feeling like we needed to refresh our ministry, image, goals, etc. as who we are as people and the work the Lord has called us to has been continually evolving over the past years. We all grow and the call of God on our lives matures and adapts as we mature spiritually. Over the years, I have studied art intensely (as most of you know) with a desire to learn to communicate through the mediums of painting and drawing. Though the Lord had called me to and blessed my work, he asked me to lay aside creating visual art several years ago, which I did, and traveled and preached, taught and ministered, to thousands of people. In the past year and a half or so the Lord had me painting again. It was a difficult thing to come back to actually, as I had settled into my new work and way of life. Though I resisted initially, returning to painting again has been one of the most fulfilling, rewarding experiences of my life. My painting actually improved dramatically over the years I was not creating; mainly, I believe, because my heart had changed. So here's where we are at...

I have been utilizing painting and drawing demonstrations in my ministering at churches, conferences, etc, for a while now and have been feeling more and more of a direction from the Lord to shift into letting this take more precedence in my life. My response, and shift into this is Renaissance Life.

Renaissance [ren-uh-sahns]: The activity, spirit or time of revival and renewal of life, vigor,                                                        art, interest, etc.; rebirth; revival; awakening.

The idea behind Renaissance Life is to engage and encourage groups and individuals to pursue excellency, fullness and healing for their whole being; body, soul and spirit. I wanted to be able to reach a larger audience with the good news of freedom, peace and joy that is available in knowing God. To push people to open their minds and hearts to the purposes of God and to chase after the dreams that have been placed in their hearts regardless of cost or fear; to see their destiny fulfilled. Renaissance Life, in my heart, is a way of being, living and acknowledging who we are as natural and spiritual beings.

So what will be different now?

Everything we have been doing will remain the same. We will continue to speak at churches, conferences, lead retreats and workshops, etc. We will also continue individual discipleship relationships that we have been cultivating for years and our weekly, online discipleship video meetings will go on as normal. The only changes will be that I, Colt, will be making specific efforts to reach a larger community of people through the arts. I will be conducting painting and drawing workshops, producing free video teaching resources for artists (see our new site by clicking on the image above to view the first videos), etc. It is my heart to incorporate spiritual truth into my art teaching, to be a blessing to the world but also to offer sound, technical painting and drawing training to visual artists within the Christian community, as we have fallen desperately behind in this regard. If followers of Christ will affect society through art (one of the 7 pillars of society), it must happen with great skill and deliberateness... artists inside the church will not be taken seriously until this is addressed. I have been blessed with one of the best art educations one could possibly have, literally, and I desire to share this gift I have been given with others who can bring Light into the world through art.

One question I have already received is in regard to donations. For those of you who have automatic giving set up to support us, nothing changes. Our accounts are set up for both, Prehm Ministries and Renaissance Life. You can still give online through our website as well. We are now using a program called Stripe that is VERY easy to use, secure, and does not require you to become a member to give.

In this giving section I also want to say a couple of things. First off, thank you so much to all of you who have faithfully supported us over the years and enabled us to be able to do the work we have been called to. We are so grateful and those of you who know my heart know just how appreciative I really am. Secondly, we need you more than ever! The work we are endeavoring to put our hands to will require more resources so your support is still vital to our continuing ministry. If you would like to give a one time gift (our page isn't set up for automatic monthly gifts yet) to help us kick off into this new season, you can do so at the link below.

Again, I want to thank you all so much. Liz and I have been so blessed by all of your love, support and prayers over the years. You are our inspiration and system of support. We love you and, as I said before, we are so grateful that we have such wonderful people in our lives.

May you be blessed and may your heart and lives be full of peace,

Colt Prehm
